I have to mention that I have registered Stack Overflow 1 month ago. But now I think found my Stack Overflow account have been merged with another user which have different account.

(My original Stack Overflow account has just 101 reputation with association bonus and I have no answering or asking anything before. This prove that my Stack Overflow account seems merged with other user accounts.)

Update: I found that all my stack Exchange accounts was changing to an account that I’m not familiar. My original email account is “m-*******@moe-dl,edu.my”, but all my email address has changed to “xtom********@gmail.com”.

What are the consequences of rejecting a Marie curie doctoral position, after accepting it?

I have recently been selected for a Marie curie doctoral position and have to inform the selection committee about my decision within a week. I don’t want to let go of this opportunity, but I also have some really good applications going on. What happens if I reject the offer, after I have accepted it? Are there any personal/professionql/legal consequences?

Should I list my work as a frequent journal reviewer as a volunteer work in LinkedIn?

I am a frequent reviewer for a particular (computer science) journal, and I wonder if the review work I do counts as a "volunteer" work?

I do already list this work in my CV under (PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES) section. Should I also add it to my LinkedIn profile under (volunteer experience) section?

What is happening to my magnolia?

This is their 3rd year being in this spot. They occasionally drop leaves, not very often. All the rest of my magnolias are thriving and flowering but these two are on the struggle bus. What is happening ? They are still green and those little bud looking things grow, which is weird. I am ready to take them out they have been like this for about 4 months know! Issue with Gain Compensation Circuit in MLD203P1 Laser Driver

I am experiencing difficulties with the gain circuit of Thorlabs' MLD203P1 laser driver. Despite adhering to the datasheet and evaluation manual, my laser diode is burning out, and the current readings are excessively high. I have experimented with various resistor values for the gain setting without success. Interestingly, using a photodiode and LED as a makeshift laser diode works fine. However, when I attach a laser diode, it instantly draws over ten times the current of the LED and burns out immediately.

My goal is to adjust the laser power using PSET and make slight changes to a potentiometer controlling the gain to slightly reduce or increase the power. However, I aim to keep the minimum resistance within acceptable levels to prevent damaging the lasers.

Curiously, I had previously wired this the same way, and it worked perfectly. It also functions correctly on the development boards. I wired it identically this time, even referring to a photo I took, yet I am encountering this issue.

Here is the configuration of my last test setup:

The photodiode and LED setup in place of a laser diode works correctly and shows acceptable current ranges. However, as soon as I connect a laser diode, it instantly burns out, regardless of whether I use a 50k resistor or any other value.

I am using the L650P007 laser diode from Thorlabs. Here is some more useful information relating to these chips/diode.

Power Control by Photodiode Current
The MLD203P1 operates in Constant Power Mode. The criteria for constant power is a con-
stant photo current, delivered by the build-in to the laser housing photodiode (AKA monitor di-
ode). Therefore, the photodiode current is measured (actual value) and converted into a
voltage, which is compared with a set value.
The photodiode is connected between PDA and GND_LD. Its current is applied to the input of
a VVA (Voltage-to-Voltage Amplifier). The output of this stage delivers a voltage equivalent to
the optical power and is applied to one of the comparator inputs.
The feedback resistor connected to the COMP1 and COMP2 pins determines the gain of the
VVA, and this way the maximum possible photodiode current. The relation between maximum
photodiode current IPD,MAX and RCOMP is expressed by the formulas

Emulating differential and common mode in ADC

A differential op amp amplifies the difference and rejects the common signal.

Can you create this effect in ADC and firmware/software by using say channel A and B. For example. If you subtract the signal of channel A from the signal of channel B, you will automatically cancel any signal C that is common to both: A = A_0 + C, B = B_0 + C, B - A = B_0 + C - A_0 - C = B_0 - A_0.

If you dont need any programmable gain amplifier in ADC because the input can be mapped correctly to say the 24 bit ADC 250mV range. Then is the above used?

I am conducting an experiment with the Lhi 878 sensor, and when I input 5V, the output is connected to an oscilloscope without any significant load. The output is detected around 1V within a range of approximately 0.10V. Is this normal behavior, or is there an issue? If there is an issue, what could be the problem?
